July 30th 2015 - Our department would like to congratulate Officer Nichole Gura who recently graduated from MPTC Western Massachusetts academy this month. Officer Gura worked at our department as a reserve officer, was hired full time, and began the academy over the winter. Officer Gura has been assigned to work the 11PM to 7AM shift.
September 27, 2014 - The Hampden Police Department and the Town of Hampden Board of Health in coordination with the DEA will again be conducting the Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative. This will be conducted on September 27, 2014 from 10AM to 2PM at the Hampden Senior Center. We cannot accept needles, liquids, or medical devices. This is a very successful campaign to get unwanted prescription medication out of people's home and destroyed safely. If you have any questions about this, please contact the Town of Hampden Board of Health.
October 4, 2013 - The Hampden Police Department hosted a public safety fall festival at the Thornton Burgess Middle School in Hampden. A wide variety of events took place to include an antique car show, officers and cruisers from many neighboring communities, K-9 demonstrations, the Hampden Fire Department and demonstrations from them, the air wing from the Massachusetts State Police had a helicopter fly in, etc. It was a great night to see the equipment used by public safety and to meet the officers that work in Hampden and other communities.
